about
"Knights runs two simultaneous themes conflicting both within themselves and to that which is greater: systematic oppression and toxic masculinity. With systematic oppression, we have a culture that only now recognizes the inherent imbalance of class that has been sewn into the fabric of our society. Concerning toxic masculinity, one can sometimes get lost in trying to “save” someone you love who is in a tough situation when you should just be there on their terms. Both require introspection, change of action, and empathy, not pity. Ultimately, Knights is about showing some fucking compassion."
"Knights" was was produced by Grammy Award winning Producer/Engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter).
lyrics
Knights
Verse
White Knight keep acting awkward
Speaks of eternity
These words
I don't know what I want
Fueled to complacency
White knight keeps talking backwards
Punch drunk anxiety
These words
Only Angst the servants
He bleeds for you and me
Chorus
We’re taking over your knights
We’re taking over your knights
It couldn't be arranged
It's not a shame to claim
We’re taking over your knights
Verse
White knight claims he no coward
He climbs his family tree
These words
Only heard if by chance
Echo equality
White knight in ivory towers
Keeps watch on you and me
These words
Only angst the servants
We’re not their property
Chorus
We’re taking over your knights
We’re taking over your knights
It couldn’t be arranged
It’s not a shame to claim
We’re taking over your knights
Bridge
Can’t save the ones you want to hold below the water
Can’t save the ones you want to hold above all others
Cant save the one you only see as sex and color
Just save the ones who always stare back in the mirror
Chorus
We’re taking over your knights
We’re taking over your knights
It couldn’t be arranged
It’s not a shame to claim
We’re taking over your knights
